Chairman of the division one league board, Mr. Owoahene Acheampong, has hinted the FA is set to introduce a club licensing system which will prevent clubs from using grassless pitches from next season.

The licensing system when introduced will help rid the league of below standard football pitches and also admit only clubs with a stipulated amount of money in its coffers into the league.

“The licensing system to be introduced will rid the game of below standard pitches. If the football park in a team’s home grounds is grassless and do not have seats, the venue will not be approved for league matches. Also, the licensing system will make sure clubs have a stipulated amount of money in their accounts before they are cleared to partake in the league,” he told Humul Khulsum Tahiru on A1 radio’s sports line, Friday.

He mentioned that, the FA’s decision to include a stipulated amount of money in the provisions of the licensing system is to ensure that players are paid and clubs are fully resourced to sponsor their travels with ease.

He warned that a club’s inability to fulfill these obligations will render the club not eligible to partake in next seasons GN Bank Division one league.

The GN Bank is currently ongoing with 23 matches played so far in both zones.
