Regional and constituency executives and some members of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the Upper East Region have declared their unflinching support for aspiring national chairman of the party Professor Edmond Delle.
The party members declared their support to the dermatologist in Bolgatanga on Friday at a press conference.
Abdul Hakim Umar, CPP Navrongo central constituency secretary who read a statement on behalf of the party members stated “our resolve is base on his maturity, efficiency, organizational skills, track record and commitment to the course of the party.
According to them “the party would secure not less than 150 MPs in the next parliament, as we would be able to win the next general elections to save the suffering masses of our country.”
The Upper East Regional branch of the Convention People’s Party therefore entreated other regional executives and party members to declare their support for Prof. Delle for a rebranded CPP and victory in the 2016 general elections.
Professor Delle was once the national chairman of the party between 2003 and 2007. Despite talks for a merger with the People’s National Convention (PNC), the CPP has slated 18th and 19th September to elect its national executives.
