UCMAS Program Reaffirms Commitment to Sharpen the Brains of Children

The Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System in the Upper East region on Friday held a press conference to assure parents of their commitment to deliver quality education and training for their children.

UCMAS Ghana Is a professional organization headed by a team of directors who champion the course of offering society a noble and path-breaking method of education through revolutionary concept of UCMAS which was introduced in Ghana in the year 2007.

Addressing the media at a press conference in Bolgatanga, the regional director of UCMAS Mr. Isaac Dwobeng said some the benefits of UCMAS programs are enormous which include the ability to improve the speed and accuracy of calculations and also sharpens children’s ability to think faster and help them to enhance their writing skills.

Dwobeng also expressed satisfaction at UCMAS program in the region. According to him, it will give children in the region the opportunity to compete in mental arithmetic programs across the world. He added that UCMAS will train the children for the national competition scheduled to take place in October 2015.

He called on Heads of schools in the region to add UCMAS mental arithmetic program as part of their curriculum to improve the quality of education in the region. He narrated that children who have participated in the programme have demonstrated wonderful calculation speed resulting in the development of their mental abilities.

Some of the parents who spoke to A1news expressed their satisfaction at the excellent performance of their children since they enrolled them into the UCMAS program in the region and therefore called on UCMAS to put in more effort to help the children so that they can overcome the poor performance in BECE and the WASSE examination in mathematics which is a major challenge affecting school children in the region.
