He noted that apart from the trans-ECOWAS road which links Kasena Nankana East and West with the regional capital; all the rest of the roads in the region are in a state of disrepair.

He expressed his distaste at the state of roads in the Regional capital, Bolgatanga saying “We are aware that there is no single useable road in Bolgatanga, yet we pride ourselves as a regional capital. The completely deteriorated and deplorable nature of the Bolga-Zuarungu road and the Bolga-Sherigu road has caused serious accidents leading to loss of countless and needless deaths in the municipality.”

He mentioned that even the Bolga-Bawku roads which is the longest stretch and links seven administrative districts to the East is in a devastating state adding that several calls by other groups for these roads to be fixed have fallen on a deaf ear.

He questioned why authorities are looking on unconcerned at the shoddy works done by various contractors on some roads including Madina-Bongo roads

He therefore called on government to among other things work on roads linking the various districts to the regional capital, all Bolgatanga township roads should be fixed as a matter of urgency, new quality roads should be created in Zongo.
