Continental Club masters, Accra Hearts of Oak are expected to appoint a new head coach for the team before the team starts its pre-season on October 15th.

Accra Hearts of Oak Head Coach position became vacant after the team parted ways with their Head Coach, Herbert Addo in the middle of the just ended season after the team was struggling to find its feet.

Speaking to Aboagye Emmanuel on A1 Radio’s sports forum show Friday, Head of communications for the club, Mr. Opare Addo, mentioned that the team will come out with a name before 15th October because the team will regroup for pre-season preparations on 15th October where the head-coach is expected to meet the players.

He disclosed that over twenty eight coaches have applied for the vacant head coach position but a few of them are Ghanaians with foreigners dominating.

He mentioned that both caretaker coach, Eddie Ansah and Turkish coach Vanli Can who came in to assist Hearts of Oak from escaping relegation have all applied for the position but both of them including other applicants will be grilled for the best to be selected because Hearts of Oak wants to return to its winning ways.

Mr.Addo indicated that although the goalkeeper’s trainer position is vacant at the moment, the club has not advertised it because they may head hunt for a replacement for Eddie Ansah who resigned to apply for the vacant Head Coach position.
