Bolgatanga East PPP Parliamentary Candidate Promises to Fight Unemployment

Progressive Peoples Party Parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga East Constituency Starling Ayinenongma Baba has assured of a workable approach that would transform the constituency with priority on addressing the unemployment situation in the area.

His planned efforts aimed at reducing the rate of unemployment in the constituency according to him would be geared towards attracting private sector investors to invest in the many “underutilized resources” in the area to the benefit of the constituents.

Mr. Starling Ayinenongma disclosed this in Zuarungu when announcing his bid to lead the party in the constituency into the general elections. Mr. Ayinenongma was overwhelmingly endorsed by PPP supporters in the area and out doored by the electoral commission as parliamentary candidate.

He would face a tough contest from incumbent Member of Parliament for the area, Dr. Dominic Ayine and the New Patriotic Party’s Dr. Emmanuel Abugri Aboole.

Mr. Ayinenongma who contested the 2012 elections but lost to the Deputy Attorney General promised to set up Bolga East Educational Fund (BEEF) with a seed capital of Ghc 100,000 as an initiative to improve the standards of education in the area.

“The fund would be administered by non technocrats who will ensure that the funds are judiciously utilized for the benefits of our brothers and sisters in all levels of education,” he stated.

Aside supporting women financially to enable them go into livelihood activities, Mr. Ayinenongma pledged to provide constituents with portable drinking water adding that “I will therefore continue to lobby for more boreholes for the communities which are still facing this challenge.”

The party’s constituency chairman, Ben Asunka said the Progressive People’s Party shall desilt and dig more dams in the constituency to engage the constituents in yearly farming activities if voted into power. A situation he noted will curb urban migration.

“People think we cannot make way because it is a new party this is not like other new parties that are formed and they come and they collapsed we are here to stay and we are poised for action in this Bolgatanga East constituency,” he declared.
