Bolgatanga: MTN Ghana Builds Capacity of Business Owners through Internet Usage

Ghana’s leading telecommunication network, MTN, has organized a Regional Direct Forum to educate trade associations in the upper east region on the use of internet and its advantages to the growth of their businesses.

The forum forms part of this year’s edition of the month-long Internet Festival dubbed IFest.

Speaking at the IFest engagement forum organized at VAG Hall in Bolgatanga, MTN Innovation Manager, David Narh, said their main focus in dedicating a whole month to educate and create awareness was to promote the existing relationship between them and the traders by educating them through some of the benefits in using internet in their various businesses

According to Mr.Narh, the internet has come to stay as an aspect of human life.

He said aside creating awareness and education, MTN has empowered many through IFest by creating the MTN Apps Challenge programme which has nurtured talents in the Ghanaian app developers community.

“Initiative such as IFest and Applications (Apps) Challenges helped to harness the true benefits of information and Telecommunication Technology (ICT) to promote socio-economic development while delivering the bold new digital experience to the people of Upper east.”

Touching on the network’s 4G introduced recently as an extremely high speed internet connection available in all districts across the country, he mentioned that MTN being the first telecommunication to obtain a license to enroll the 4G package with the mind of serving their customers better.

He mentioned that MTN will use IFest as an opportunity to switch their customers in the region from 3G to 4G.

The telecommunication network is celebrating its 20th anniversary and as part of events to mark the anniversary, a Health Walk was organized for their customers and stakeholders to keep them fit and strong as they go about their business.
