General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), Atik Mohammed, has said there is a conspiracy to weaken the PNC because of fears that the party has been revived and is rejuvenated across the country.

According to him, other Political parties are preaching the crisis and challenges of the PNC in their campaigns but to him, those challenges which has befallen the party is borne out of a conspiracy between people who fear the renewed spirit of the party.

“People will tell you the PNC is undergoing some crisis, the truth is that we have a situation on our hands but do you know why we have that situation? People have realized the renewed PNC in Bolgatanga Central, Talensi, Nadoli, Sisala West, they have realized the new PNC in Ghana and they are telling themselves; if we allow this party to participate in this year’s election, outcomes shall not be favorable, so what do we do? Let’s conspire to weaken them.”

Mr. Atik however, mentioned that the PNC will not fall for the conspiracy to break it down but will soldier forward in building a resolute political party, promising the reinstating of the PNC’s Presidential candidate before the December elections.

“But I am telling you today and now that the PNC shall not fall for the conspiracy. The PNC shall be stronger and stronger. I am telling you that our Presidential candidate shall find himself on the ballot paper and on December 7, when you are voting, you shall be voting for Dr. Edward Mahama to become the President this country needs and Mr. Thomas Akurugu for the Parliamentarian Bolgatanga central has been yearning for.”

Atik Mohammed who was speaking at the launch of Bolgatanga Central campaign on Sunday October 16 reminded party faithful and all present on the need to bring back PNC in the Bolgatanga central constituency in order to deliver it from the despair and joblessness which has characterized the constituency under the current administration in the country.

One Polling Station, One Hundred Votes

The General Secretary noted that some parties have been making promises including one village, one dam and one household, one meter but reminded party faithful of the need to empower Thomas Akurugu to achieve his target of getting at least hundred votes in all polling stations because that will ensure victory for the PNC come December 7.

“It is just not enough to say I am going to cast my ballot. You must make sure that as you are going to cast your ballot, you have not less than five people at your command going to vote for the PNC. People are going about promising one dam, one village, one wife, one man. We are going to tell you that the Thomas Akurugu project is one polling station, one hundred votes. When we are able to deliver hundred votes per polling station, we will go home in the hope that our candidate has won.”

Atik noted that the current Member of Parliament has failed woefully and it was time for change to bring some comfort to the people of the Bolgatanga central constituency .

Thomas Akurugu Coming Like ‘Kakai’

Chairman for the Peoples National Congress , Benard Monah, in introducing the candidate to people present at the campaign launch mentioned that it was no coincidence that the NDC in the constituency was also launching its campaign on the same day that the PNC is launching its campaign mentioning that, it is an indication of the shivers Thomas Akurugu sends down the spine of the NDC which is losing the seat come December 7.
