Chief Executive Officer of Premier League club, Bolga All Stars, Abdul-Basit Paawillie has expressed fears the club may not be able to play matches in Bolgatanga when the league starts because the Bolgatanga sports stadium is currently in a bad condition.

The fate of Bolga All Stars to play on their home pitch hangs in a balance because Premier League stadiums are expected to be of a higher quality which cannot be guaranteed by the Bolgatanga Sports Stadium.

Speaking to Azongo Albert on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show, he said the club is worried it may lose a massive home support following indications that they may not have the opportunity to play matches in Bolgatanga due to the low standard status of the stadium.

According to him, though a committee has been setup to accelerate a face-lift of the stadium ahead of the league, some grounds work is yet to commence.

“A lot of paper work has been done with regards to the stadium but on the grounds no physical work can be seen. The Minister commissioned a committee which he is also a member of and we expect that they will work on the pitch before the start of the league.”

He however indicated that he will be disappointed if leaders of the region fail to put the stadium in good shape to host them considering the economic potential of playing at home.
