Chief Executive Officer of Bolgatanga All Stars, Abdul Basit Paawille, has said the managers of the club may consider selling it to the highest bidder since the team currently lacks the financial muscle to play in the elite league.

This move comes on the back of the failure to renovate the Bolgatanga sports stadium to enable the Bolga All Stars play their home matches in Bolgatanga.

Speaking to a1radioonline.com, Abdul Basit mentioned that since the leadership of the region had failed to put the stadium in shape before the start of the league “we will have to adopt either Tamale or Wa as our home and that comes with an extra cost to the team which we cannot afford.”

He mentioned that managers of the team will go around the region to solicit for funds but if they are unable to raise an appreciable amount, they consider selling the team to people who are ready to buy it.

“We will take matters into our hand and go round to solicit for funds but if we are unable to raise enough funds, we will sit as a team and release the team to people who will want to buy it because we have had several offers.”

Meanwhile, supporters of the club have said they will hold a peaceful demonstration on Thursday to drum home the need for their leaders to work at ensuring their team plays the league in Bolgatanga

Bolgatanga All Stars made history by being the first team from the upper east region to qualify for the premier league. However, the dream of playing at home hangs in a balance because the Bolgatanga sports stadium which serves as their home is below the standard for premier league football.
