Bolga East: Dominic Ayine Retained With Convincing Win

Dr. Dominic Ayine has been maintained as the Member of Parliament in the Bolgatanga East Constituency in the Upper East Region after beating off stiff opposition from the NPP and PPP in that constituency.

His victory comes after he polled 10,368 as against 4,175 and 132 polled by the NPP’s Dr Emmanuel Abugri Aboole  and the PPP’s Mr Baba Starling Ayinenongma respectively. Hence increasing his votes from 2012 election where he polled a little over eight thousand votes.

On the day, number of valid votes cast was 14,676 with 164 of the ballot rejected whiles 19,982 people registered in the constituency to cast their ballot.

The Bolgatanga East constituency was carved out of the Bolgatanga Central constituency in 2012 and Dr. Dominic Ayine  has since been the Member of Parliament for the constituency.
