U/E: Journalist expresses interest in RFA Chairmanship

TV 3’s correspondent for the Upper East region, Alhaji Rabiu Tanko has declared his intentions to contest for the position of Regional Football Association Chairmanship to help change the sinking fortunes of football in the region.

According to him, football in the region is currently dead considering the fact that colts football which is the backbone of football have been relegated and all concentration have been on Premier football and Division One and Two football which does not project the region.

Alhaji Rabiu who made this declaration in an interview with A1 Radio’s Aboagye Emmanuel said the current Regional Football Association has done its bit an needs to be shown the exit so new limbs are brought on board to help the game grow in the Upper East region.

When asked what are some of his strategies he intends introducing to help propel football in the region a coy Alhaji Tanko said “I cannot disclose my plans on live radio but I have laid down strategies to develop football from the scratch in order to develop talents for the region”.

He indicated that he is coming to serve the people of the Upper East region and not to be served hence called on everybody to support his movement to clinch the position for the development of football in the Upper East region.

He indicated that the reception he has received from football people in the region gives him hope that he will be endorsed to help give football in the Upper East region a new face.
