Kumawood Actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, known popularly as Lil Win has said awards schemes in Ghana are not credible hence he does not bank his hopes in them.

According to him, most award schemes in the country are organized for monetary gains rather than acknowledging the works of individuals who have excelled in their diverse fields in the country.

He indicated that most award schemes organized in the country acknowledge people who will be willing to pay to be honoured rather than individuals who have worked hard.

Lil Win who was speaking to Kofi Asante od Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio said for him, he would rather focus on working hard in his chosen field in order to be a better person than focus on awards which are not credible.

“As for me I don’t work for awards because most of the awards in Ghana are not credible. I focus on my work and I think that is what others who are also in the industry should do. How can you nominate Ghanaian actors and actresses for the same award in Ghana and crown Nigerians as winners? It doesn’t make sense so as for me, I don’t really care about awards,” he told A1 Radio’s Kofi Asante.

Lil Win called on Artistes and Actors in the country to focus on their work rather than awards because the work is what will put something in their pockets and not awards.
