The Upper East regional security council has called on all security agencies and all stakeholders to contribute to the fight against felling of rosewood in the forests of the region.
A Statement from the Council noted that although the Ministry of Lands and Natural resources have placed a ban on the felling of woods and have mandated a few licensed companies to salvage the already felled trees, some companies have take advantage of the situation to fell more trees.
The statement called on security agencies and other stakeholders to arrest, prosecute and impound all vehicles of companies perpetrating the illegality in the region.
