The two communities are claiming ownership of a land located in between the two communities. If authorities do not intervene in the matter as soon as possible, confusion could erupt between the two communities.
Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Edward Ayiriba Ayagle confirmed knowledge of the issue to A1 News and says he is meeting the regional police commander to take security measures to avoid any confrontations.
In recent times, there have been issues of land disputes between some communities in the Bolgatanga Municipality which led to some deaths, many sustaining major injuries and others losing properties worth millions of Ghana Cedis.
Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive, Edward Ayiriba Ayagle says since his assumption of office as municipal chief executive, there has been frequent complains by individuals over ownership of lands which sometimes led to disputes.
The MCE said the issue of land disputes has been a worry to him, adding that efforts are being made in collaboration with the Municipal Security Council for a lasting solution to them.
Aside communities, Mr. Ayagle said there are also complains to his office from individuals fighting over parcels of land.
He expressed unhappiness about the fact that some land custodians in the Municipality are not helping to find lasting solutions to the land disputes.
