The President’s nominee for the Bawku Municipality in the Upper East region, Hawa Ninchema has finally been confirmed.
The MCE nominee was overwhelmingly endorsed polling 23 votes representing 82% against 5 which is equal to 12% making more than the mandatory two-thirds majority as required by law to be confirmed and sworn into office.
The process was conducted by officials of the Electoral Commission with the Upper East Regional Minister, Rockson Bukari in attendance.
Last month the assembly members rejected her after she polled 15 votes representing 56% against 12 dissenting
