Upper East Regional President of the Ghana Federation of Disability Organization, David Aniah has said the introduction of the Free SHS policy by the New Patriotic Party’s will bring relief to persons with disability who hitherto would have ended their education after Junior High School.

According to him, the laudable policy will ensure that all citizens including persons with disabilities achieve their academic dreams because none will be disadvantaged based on financial constraints.

Mr. Aniah who was speaking to Christopher Asima on A1 Radio’s Daybreak Upper East indicated that apart from persons with disability, other children on the streets in the country and especially the Upper East region will no longer have excuses to loiter about in town adding that it will help improve the human resource of the country.

He, however, called on government to work at ensuring the policy is sustained and not become a nine day wonder like some policies became in the past.

David Aniah charged the government to provide a policy document which will force any other government that comes after the NPP government to be committed to the policy and not cancel it like the four-year SHS system was cancelled by the Prof. Atta Mills’ government.
