Stop politics and concentrate on teaching your pupils – Bon-Naba to teachers

The Paramount Chief of the Bongo Traditional Area, Naba Baba Salifu Leyaarum has advised teachers to execute their duties devoid of politics.

According to him, he has had wind of the fact that some teachers use their productive hours for political arguments and other political activities to the detriment of the pupils in their various schools.

He blamed the poor performance of students in the various Government Basic institutions on this fact and cautioned teachers to desist from it in order to have adequate and quality time for their students.

He said “don’t do politics with your job.  I have information that some of you do politics with your job and that can be blamed for the poor performance of students in their exams. When elections are over, let’s not continue with the politics, let’s put it aside so we can concentrate out time on training these future leaders”.

The Chief who was speaking to the teachers during a visit to the schools to mark “my first Day at school” said that he was very sure if teachers attach seriousness in the execution of their work, their students will excel than students who attend the various private schools.

The District Chief Executive, the District Education Director and Chief visited some schools in the Bongo District to mark “My First Day At School”.
