NEDCO Promises Major Improvement in Electricity Supply in Upper East Soon

VRAElectricity supply in the Upper East Region will soon improve significantly as the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCO) is set to take major steps in that regard.

The finance and commercial director of NEDCO, Francis Kusi made this revelation at a stakeholders’ meeting in Bolgatanga on Tuesday. The stakeholders’ meeting was on the theme; “Power distribution in the north: The past, present and the future”. It brought together representatives and heads of various institutions and organizations who are stakeholders in electricity supply, to deliberate on issues bothering consumers of electricity and the suppliers.

The finance and commercial director of NEDCO, Francis Kusi made a presentation on what the past and present situation is as far as electricity supply in the Upper East Region is concerned. He said the future looks bright for electricity consumers in the region.

A forum was opened for consumers to express their grievances about the supply of electricity for appropriate redresses. The northern area manager of NEDCO, Bukuari Danladi responded to some concerns raised by members of the public in relation to prepaid meters.

Deputy Upper East Regional minister, Daniel Syme who chaired the meeting, gave some clarifications about Government’s earlier directive for some institutions to be exempted from the mass prepaid metering system.
