Bolgatanga ECG Youth Ministry’s District Youth Camp Ends at Zuugu

CHURCHSYMBOL2The Bolgatanga District Youth Ministry of the Evangelical Church of Ghana (ECG) has successfully held its 2013 District Youth Camp at the Kongo Senior High School at Zuugu near Pelungu in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region.

The Bolgatanga District Coordinator of the Evangelical Church of Ghana, William Jalulah tells A1 News the campers were drawn from all the five zones of the district; namely Bolgatanga, Dachio, Bongo, Winkogo and Sakoti Zones.

Sakoti was the host zone. The camp started on Tuesday with 200 registered campers but the number increased to about 250 before the climax on Saturday, August 31, 2013.

The programme was on the theme; “Chosen to serve God’s purpose in our generation” – 1 Peter 2:9 and Acts 13:36. According to Mr. Jalulah, all the sermons during the programme were centered around the theme with key talks on courtship, Christian marriage, and career development.

The Coordinator thanked parents and the church for supporting their children to take part in the camp and appealed for further support as the youth ministry prepares to hold the national youth camp at Kpassa in the Volta Region.

Main speakers included the District Overseer of ECG, Rev. Samuel Apeligeba, Rev. Simon Adongo of Dachio assembly, Pastor Matthew Nboka, District Youth Pastor and Pastor Emmanuel Dok of Tongo assembly.

The programme also witnessed the election of new district executives. Victor Asumbono was elected secretary with Eva Anafo as his Assistant; Rose Abane as treasurer with Patience Agingo as her Assistant; James Akugre as Organizer with Maxwell Adombire and Wilbert Aduko as his assistants while Olivia Simbil was elected as Ladies’ Organizer.

Solomon Ayamdoo was elected as Prayer and Evangelism Secretary with Denis Atia as his assistant while William Jalulah and his Deputy coordinator; Mark Abaah went unopposed after their four years of dedicated service in office.
