President’s nominee for the Special Prosecutor position, Martin Amidu will today face the Parliament Appointments Committee today, February 13 regardless of the suit filed by Bolgatanga East Member of Parliament, Dominic Ayine.

Dr Dominic Ayine yesterday filed a suit against the nomination of Martin Amidu for the position of Independent Special Prosecutor.

Lawyer for the plaintiff, Tony Lithur in a writ filed at the Supreme court argued that by reason of the age of the 2nd Defendant(Martin Amidu) who’s now 66 years, Mr Amidu is not qualified or eligible to be appointed by President Akufo-Addo for the Office of the Special Prosecutor.

The suit came a day before the vetting of Mr Amidu set for Tuesday, February 13.

But Martin Amidu has indicated that he has nothing to lose no matter the outcome of his nomination by the Parliment’s Appointments Committee.
