Credible information available to a1radioonline.com indicates that Parliament’s Appointment Committee has by a unanimous decision approved the nomination of Martin Amidu for the position of Special Prosecutor.

The decision was taken at a caucus meeting after Mr Amidu’s vetting on Tuesday.

The former Attorney General went through a grueling nine (9) hour question and answer session during which he answered questions about the office he’s to occupy and other related matters.

Political watchers say the anti-corruption campaigner acquitted himself creditably.

Majority Chief Whip and member of the Appointment Committee, Kwasi Ameyaw Cheremeh has said the Appointment Committee is likely to present its report by close of Thursday to be laid in the Plenary for debate by next week for Mr Amidu’s approval or disapproval.
