Upper East Regional Women Organizer of the New Patriotic Party, Georgina Ayamba, is targeting to ensure that 80% of Parliamentary seats in the region are elected from the ticket of the NPP in the coming 2020 general elections.

Mrs. Ayamba who envisaged increasing the party’s fortunes in the region has promised to mobilize women and all identifiable young women’s groups and well-wishers of the party to ensure the set targets are achieved.

She made known that the current set of executives of the party will not relent in their efforts “to make a positive difference” come 2020 elections.

Mrs. Ayamba was elected women organizer for the region in the just ended regional delegates conference of the New Patriotic Party held at Bolgatanga. She was overwhelmingly endorsed by the delegates with 162 votes thereby beating 5 other candidates.

In a statement copied to A1 News, Mrs. Ayamba was grateful for the confidence reposed in her by the delegates to lead the women’s front as the party’s Upper East Regional Women Organizer.

The statement also thanked the party members, Electoral Commission, the security agencies, the media and other key bodies that contributed towards the peaceful conduct of the election.

According to her, the peaceful manner in which the election was conducted is another bragging right to the NPP in relation to how “Ghanaians made the right choice by handing over the management of the affairs of this country to the party at the 2016 general elections”

She has therefore admonished members of the NPP “to continue to promote peace and love” among themselves. The Regional Women Organizer reminded party members “to continue to see the overriding interest of the party as a non-negotiable goal they must all pursue and protect”

She cautioned party sympathizers to “keep guard against playing into the snares” of their “political detractors who have become so desperate for power that peddling of untruths on a daily basis has become their stock in trade”

Mrs. Ayamba used the opportunity to wish all Ghanaians a belated Happy Workers’ Day and a Happy Mother’s Day in advance.
