National Democratic Congress (NDC) ward executives and some youth in the Walewale Constituency in the Northern Region are demanding an immediate removal of the District Chief Executive of Walewale, Adam Yussif Banablesira.

The ward executives and youth say they have lost confidence in DCE as he has, in his capacity disunited the party which attributed to the defeat of their parliamentary candidate in the 2012 general election. The ward executives and youth of the area expressed their frustration on Thursday at a media briefing in Walewale.

Spokesperson for the group, Samuel Nabila Idabeni in a statement said Mr. Banablesira is a non-performing District Chief Executive and said his actions favored the opposition New Patriotic Party in all aspects including awards of contracts and other appointments.

The group also accused the DCE of failing to bring development to area. On the recent riot at the Walewale Senior High School, a section of members in the constituency accused him of being of being reluctant to respond to earlier threats made by the students which led to the destruction of some property running into millions of cedis.

They are therefore calling on the President, John Dramani Mahama for the immediate removal of the District Chief Executive by close of 2013 in order to unify the party towards the 2016 general election. Meanwhile the District Executive when contacted by A1 News described the allegation as mere falsehood.
