Despite the protracted ethnic conflict that has been in Bawku for some years now, sometimes disrupting teaching and learning in schools in the area, the Bawku Senior High School for the past five years has consistently performed well academically.

In these five years, the school scored hundred percent passes in the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) with many of the school’s students, qualifying for admission into tertiary institutions.

At the climax of the Bawku Senior High School’s 50th Anniversary celebration over the weekend, Headmaster of the school, Kpuli Bismarck Simon said student-teacher relationship for the past years had been so good that no student was found of misconduct.

According to the headmaster, despite the numerous achievements the school has chalked in the past years, it is faced with a problem of inadequate accommodation for staff.

Member of Parliament and Minister of Information, Mahama Ayariga pledged to support the school with Ghc 10, 000 to equip the school’s library.
