The Member of Parliament for Binduri, Robert Baba Kuganab-Lem, has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of filling their National Executive Positions with corrupt people.

According to the NDC MP, the party intentionally  sidelined people who are known to abhor corruption and indecency from taking part in the just ended National Delegates Conference.

Mr. Kuganab-Lem stressd that the likes of Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong who are known to be great men of integrity were all not been allowed to contest because they are clean. He adds that their expulsion from activities of the party stems from the fact that the two NPP bigwigs love to see the right things done.

“As you are aware great people, people who have dignity and integrity were not allowed to contest because of the obvious fact that they are people who abhor corruption and indecency. Those who were allowed to contest were people we know promote and are deeply buried in corruption”.

“Decent people like Paul AFoko, great men of integrity who want to make sure that the right things are done. Kwabena Agyepong and the rest. They will not be given the chance because of the massive corruption and unethical practices that going on in the NPP. They are giving the chance at all”.

Speaking on Day Break Upper East on A1 Radio Monday, the lawmaker for Binduri said even though he did not have evidence to buttress his allegations against the NPP, the massive corruption cases going on under the watch of the NPP government is enough for anyone to know how corrupt the political party is.

He lashed out at government for covering up cases of corruption and the hindrance government poses to the security services investigating the rots. He mentioned the instance of the Kelni GVG contract.

“Well, I don’t have the evidence but I know and when you smell, you can see corruption. I don’t have evidence. It is the security forces, EOCO and the rest who must provide the facts. And those facts can only be provided when the doors are open for people to investigate. I mean look at the Kelni GVG contract”.

On the reasons why the National Democratic Congress was absent from the NPP Delegates Conference despite the invitation, Mr. Kuganab-Lem  said the NDC was mourning the passing of the Former Vice President, His Excellency, the Late Paa Kwesi Bekwei Amssah Arthur.

The New Patriotic Party over the weekend held their National Delegates Conference in Koforidua in the Eastern Region to elect new leaders to occupy key positions at the National level.

The elections were keenly contested by candidates from the various regions. It was a peaceful election devoid of violence.
