Demand for Black Shoes and White Socks was High in Bongo as this Year’s Independence Day Anniversary was Marked

Girls_ShoeThe usual pairs of black shoes and white socks often put on by pupils to match their uniforms during the Independence Day Anniversary celebration, run short and were in high demand in the Bongo District.

School pupils in the district, days before this year’s Independence Day Anniversary, traveled to Bolgatanga, the Upper East Regional capital, about 20 minutes’ drive in order to purchase pairs of white socks and black shoes for the occasion.

Pupils of the Beo Primary School in the Bongo District shared with A1 News, the difficulties they faced, trying to get white socks and black shoes. They said due to the high demand for the items, there was an upward adjustment in their prices.
