Residents of Bongo have been told that the major contributory factor to their retrogression in development is their Member of Parliament, Edward Bawa with his party the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to the District Chief Executive for Bongo, Peter Ayinbisa the District for the past years has not been fairly treated by the NDC and it’s Members of Parliament especially Edward Bawa despite the massive votes they have received from the electorates.

Mr. Ayinbisa who was speaking to a gathering during the launch of a “Bawumia Fan Club” in Bongo-Soe over the weekend said “The NDC was in power for eight years when our roads were bad with potholes and in deplorable state, our bridges were also broken down in Zorko,Goo,Namoo,Nyariga and other communities, they did nothing about it  but we have fixed them within this short period in office.

He lamented that in the area of employment, the NDC government performed abysmally thereby subjected qualified graduates in the District to starvation in their 8 years in office but it took the NPP government to address the unwarranted pain and frustrations caused the youth by the NDC.

“Many of our graduates were unemployed after school during the era of John Mahama but we have been able to address this situation” .since my government came to power we have been able to employ many youths in bongo in zoomlion, afforestation and a whole lot…if the NDC was able to do this I don’t think there would’ve been a change in government.

He however, touted the achievements of the NPP government and appealed to the residents to retain his government and drop the NDC with its Member of Parliament in the 2020 elections.

“The MP(Edward Bawa) lied that if he was voted into power, he will develop Bongo but today if you ask him what he has done for the people of Soe, Balungu, Beo, Adaboya and all the communities in Bongo he can’t answer because he has done nothing for you! So let us come together and ensure that we send an NPP Member of Parliament to represent us in the 2020 general elections. If we do this, then Bongo will develop. We have the record …we are building three health centers; we have also built slaughter houses, markets in the district and still counting” he indicated

Meanwhile, Upper East Regional Chairman of the Bawumia Fan Club, Osman Salifu said the purpose of the group was to garner more votes for the NPP to retain power and also increase the parliamentary seats in the region which Bongo is one the seats of interest in the 2020 general elections.
