The A1 Radio @10 anniversary tournament was part of activities marking the FM station’s ten(10) years of existence in the Upper East Region.
Twelve(12) teams comprising Media XI, New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mobile Telecommunication Network (MTN), Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Driver Vehicle and licensing Authority (DVLA), Zoomlion Ghana, Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Asante boys, Ghana Health Service (GHS), Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and A1 Radio competed for the ultimate prize.
The tournament ended yesterday with the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) crowned champions; having won on penalties 4-3 against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), after a goalless draw game at the Mobil Park in the Bolgatanga Municipality.

NDC Vs DVLA (Match not played because DVLA failed to turn up)
QUARTER FINALS
GHS 0-0 NDC, NDC won 5-4 on penalties.
NPP 3-0 SSNIT
MTN 2-0 GRA.
From here a balloting was done and the NDC had an automatic qualification into the finals; leaving MTN to meet the NPP for the semi-finals however, MTN pullout of the competition.
FINALS
NDC 0-0 NPP; NPP won 4-3 on penalties.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
BEST KEEPER
Casillas of NPP, he walked home with an A1 radio branded wall clock and a T-shirt
TOP SCORER
Abongo Paul of MTN with 4 goals, he walked home with an A1 radio branded wall clock and a T-shirt
BEST COACH
West of NPP, he was also given an A1 radio branded wall clock and a T-shirt
BEST PLAYER
Ayine Christopher of NDC, he walked home with an A1 branded wall clock and a t-shirt.
BEST JAMA TEAM
GRA, they received an A1 branded wall clock and T-shirts.
MEDAL TABLE
3RD PLACE
MTN-took 18 bronze medals.
2ND PLACE
NDC-Walked home with stockings and 18 Gold medals.
1ST-PLACE
NPP, they received a set of jersey, 18 silver medals and a giant trophy for keep.
