Former Municipal Chief Executive for Bolgatanga Assembly in the Upper East Region under the President John Attah Mills’ regime of the NDC, Hon. Epsona Ayamga is bragging about his developmental record during his tenure in office which has not been broken.
According to the former MCE, most of the constructed physical infrastructure and the designs for the structures springing up in the regional capital were his initiatives.
Mr. Ayamga told A1 News in an exclusive interview that it took discipline and strictness for him to be able to carry out the projects because most of the traders in the municipality were defiant to directives from the Assembly to relocate from demarcated areas for development.
“I did what I could do within that short period, are you not aware I brought you street lights?, I brought you traffic lights, I have made pavement blocks at the Assembly, I have made pavement blocks in town you and was to do the remaining work and I was removed. He said
He added that “The tarred Municipal streets were done under my tenure, the new market that is springing up, is my signature. I pulled down big containers and they couldn’t believe Epsona could do that, he is kind hearted but I did that. And now storey buildings are springing, find out. I did that under my tenure.. find out who broke the stores one early morning in his usual jacket and made the people to run helter skelter to pick the remaining things in their stores, because I gave them one month, they refused, I gave another month so I was justified for pulling them down. Today, you can go to the market, you have road that you can drive to“.
The former MCE however, observed that he has missed been in office because there were so many projects he intended to embark on to open up the Municipality but was removed from office under a bizzare situation.
“What I miss is a project I captured and no one is talking about it. The project, is that Bolgatanga market is so congested, we needed to do satellite market to eased the congestion and this simply means if you go to Seo near my hospital, there is a big space there, bigger than the new current market we have. I wanted all animals goat, Sheep, Dogs to move to that place so” he noted
