Police Step Up Measures To Ensure The Safety Of The People Of Bolgatanga

Ghana Police LogoPolice have stepped up security measures with the seeming insecurity amidst mysterious killings in the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga.

These measures come in in the wake of two mysterious killings and an attempted kidnap in the Region’s capital, Bolgatanga within a week.

The Public Relations Officer of the Regional Police Command, DSP Thomas Agbana revealed in an interview on A1 radio that, since the discovery of the bodies of the individuals killed mysteriously, the police have intensified their patrols in the Region.

He added that surveillance in the region have also been beefed-up saying “the overt and covert surveillance in the region have been heightened with other security agencies coming on board to assist.”

DSP Thomas Agbana hinted a resuscitation of neighbourhood watch, an initiative of the Municipal Assembly to deploy dedicated men into the nooks and cranes of the communities to help assist in night patrols in various communities in the Region.

He charged members of the public to be each other’s keeper in these trying times and encouraged the public to assist the police with credible information to help flush out the perpetrators of such killings and other crimes to help nip their activities in the bud.

He called on all stakeholders including religious leaders, traditional leaders and various opinion leaders to lend their support to help make the Region a place worth living.
