Bawku Shooting Incident Takes Two Lives

gunsTwo people were shot dead while two others sustained injuries in a conflict that hit Pathlemie, a suburb of Bawku in the Upper East region on Monday Evening.

Speaking to A1Radio on the issue, the Divisional Police Commander of Bawku, Chief Superintendent Tehupor Kalepsi said at 8pm, two people went to the town, entered the house of Alhassan Salifu and shot at a group of people sitting in front of the house.

He stated that the landlord and his wife sustained gunshots whereas the other victims both died on the spot after being shot by the gang.

He allayed the fears of residents of Bawku by stating emphatically that, the issue has no linkage with the protracted conflict in Bawku and that the case will be treated as a criminal case, adding that no arrest has been made.

The Chief of police in Bawku said investigation is underway and all efforts are being made to bring the perpetrators of the crime to book.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Security council will meet today to deliberate on issues of security in the Municipality.
