The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Bolgatanga Central Mr. Rex Asanga has described as unfortunate the continuous attacks by Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central, Isaac Adongo on vice president Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to him, Mr. Adongo’s baseless economics attacks on Dr. Bawumia’s achievements without recourse to lobbying developmental projects for constituents was negatively affecting constituents.
Speaking at a ceremony organized by NPP D-LINE Association in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region to unveil the unprecedented achievements of the NPP government, Mr. Asanga, admonished constituents to vote out Mr. Isaac Adongo for his abysmal performance as a legislator.
“The unfortunate thing is that we have our absentee MP for Bolgatanga Central, and I asked a question, when was the last time anyone sighted Isaac Adongo within Bolga?. Nobody can remember and even in the villages, the rural communities are worst, some of them don’t even know Isaac Adongo. And I think Bolgatanga Central constituency deserve better.
We cannot have an absentee MP who never talks about Bolgatanga Central in Parliament, who does not lobby for any development project for the constituency and yet the only thing that he does is to challenge His Excellency Dr. Alhaji Bawumia, but those shoes are too big for him to put on. He cannot continue to be our representative in Parliament”.
“…If go to parliament the past year he is there, you will never see Bolgatanga name mentioned, because we have never seen him ask any question, we never see him say anything about Bolgatanga Central, while other MPs always get up in the floor of parliament, they even fill questions to ask about certain development projects in their constituencies.
But unfortunately, he is the type who is always focusing on himself, everything is about himself. He wants everyone to know how good he is an economics. Economics alone does not put TZ on the table of the voter and the table of our constituents and that is the reason why am saying, that this year 2020 elections the people Bolgatanga have an opportunity and a greater opportunity this time to select somebody who have the concern of the people central at heart”.
However, Mr. Asanga was confident, the people of Bolgatanga central will offer him the opportunity in the upcoming 2020 election to represent them in parliament.
