NADMO in Collaboration with Action Aid Ghana Organizes Cleanup Exercise to Mark World Humanitarian Day in Bolgatanga

The National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in collaboration with Action Aid Ghana over the weekend organized a cleanup exercise in the Upper East Regional capital, Bolgatanga.

The cleanup exercise which involved the Ghana police service, the Ghana fire service, Zoom Lion, The Environmental Protection Agency and the Regional co-coordinating Council was organized to mark the World humanitarian day.

It was led by Deputy Upper East Regional Minister, Daniel Syme and started from the D-line area to the old Bolgatanga market through to Chief’s palace road and ended at the Bolgatanga lorry station.

At the Bolgatanga market, the Deputy Regional Minister, Daniel Syme advised market women there to form groups that can sweep the market in turns in order to keep it clean at all timesin order to avoid the outbreak of cholera in Bolgatanga municipality.

Speaking to A1 News, The Upper East Regional Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Afred Saawug expressed satisfaction after cleanup exercise and urged the public to emulate the good example they have shown and always keep their environment clean.

James Kusi Boama, Director of Action Aid Ghana who were NADMO’s partners in the organization of the cleanup exercise, told A1 News that Action Aid as an institution are always ready to support any developmental project that will impact people lives. He added that cholera must be avoided through attitudinal change.
