Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly Responds To the Plight of Zongo Residents Following an A1 News Report About Sanitation Situation There

The Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly has responded to the plight of residents of the Zongo community here in Bolgatanga, following an A1 news report about the sanitation in situation in that area.

As part of A1 Radio’s special community reports dubbed: Mission 101, our reporter, Offei-Akoto Ayeh filed a report about residents of the Zongo community who complained about a refuse container belonging the Bolgatanga Municipal Assembly which was full and had not been collected and thereby posing as a health risk to them.

Following the report which was aired on the Daybreak Upper East Program on Wednesday morning, the Municipal Assembly has cleared the said container.

Deputy Regional Manager of Zoom Lion, Issaka Abubakari spoke to A1 News at the time the container was being cleared. He said all other refuse containers within the municipality that had not been collected were going to be cleared.

A1 News has also been finding out from the Zongo residents, how they feel now that the container together with rubbish has been cleared. They said they were happy about the development and were thankful to A1 Radio for provoking the authorities to act.
