Bosco’s College of Education to Get Second Campus, Start Degree Programs

The St. John Bosco’s College of Education at Navrongo has acquired land to start a second campus as the college looks forward to starting degree programs in the near future. This is according to just-retired Principal of the college, Alfred Abugre Ndago. Mr. Ndago was speaking at a send-off ceremony organized for him as he goes on retirement. The occasion was also used to induct the new principal of the St. Bosco’s College of Education.

Alfred Abugre Ndago was appointed the principal of the St. John Bosco’s College of Education on February 16, 2000 at the age of 48. After serving for fourteen years as principal, Mr. Ndago has now gone on retirement and is credited with many achievements of the St. John Bosco’s college of education including helping raise the school to a fully-fledged diploma awarding institution and bringing several infrastructural developments to the college.

In his send-off speech, Mr. Ndago revealed that as a legacy, he has laid the grounds for the St. John Bosco’s college of education to get a second campus as the college plans to start degree programs in the near future. He revealed that land has been acquired at Gaani near Navrongo for this purpose.

Also known for his fatherly but friendly relationship with students, Mr. Ndago said it was the secret to the smooth running of the college and urged the in-coming principal to maintain a cordial relationship with students.

The chairman of the St. John Bosco’s college council and Bishop of the Navrongo-Bolgatanga Diocese, Rt. Rev. Alfred Agyenta inducted the new Principal of the college, William Anamoo Atindana into office.

William Anamoo Atindana served as Vice Principal of the St. John Bosco’s college of education under the out-gone principal, Alfred Abugre Ndago. After his induction as the new principal of the college, Mr. Atindana promised to continue all projects left behind by his predecessor. He said the lack of up-to-date books at the college library was of serious concern and he intended to tackle the problem.

Some students of the college who spoke to A1 News, the down to earth and fatherly nature of the retired principal, Alfred Abugre Ndago were key attributes of him they will never forget.
