A communicator with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nangena Michael has said that the current administration under the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is being dishonest to the people of the Upper East Region.
The alleged dishonesty, Mr. Nangena said started from where the NPP government for the past four years and counting failed to furnish the new structures at the regional hospital block, which is under locked and key.
Mr. Nangena who spoke on A1 Radio noted that the 2021 Budget Statement came to confirm his point that the NPP-led government does not have the people in the region at heart.
He said, “As a region, we are not getting the fair share of the national cake. Apart from the aerodrome that the budget spoke about, which we even doubt its reality, there is nothing for us. The regional hospital is standing there; gathering dust yet the NPP government is interested in establishing new hospitals. What kind of self-seeking government is this?”
Mr. Nangena stressed again that in terms of inner-city movement, the region is far behind other regions as there has not been any inner-city road construction in recent time.
He said, “Since coming into office, the NPP government has failed to construct inner-city roads in the regional capital. Just look how difficult we usually struggle to find our way in and out of town.”
