Sissala West MP joins Kassana residents to fix road washed off by rain

The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sissala West constituency who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Amidu Chinnia Issahaku joined a communal effort by some residents of Kassana and its surrounding communities to temporally fix the portion of the road that was recently washed off. Mr. Chinnia was spotted carrying stones and other materials alongside residents in a bid to address the situation temporally.

He also supported the community members with some 20 bags of cement and one thousand Ghana-Cedis. He commended the efforts of the community and informed them that he had made formal complaints to the Feeder Roads Department adding that a team had already been dispatched to assess the situation.

It would be recalled that days ago, heavy rains washed away parts of the road leading to the bridge connecting Kassana and Tumu. The situation left residents of the Kassana, a farming community, stranded. The Assembly Member for the Kassana Electoral Area, Daalah Abdallah Tordia, who spoke to A1 Radio then, disclosed that the same bridge was washed away last year and was worked on by the Feeder Roads Department.
