Invest in Your Children’s Education Not in Drinking Alcohol – Minister Tells Fathers

The minister for power, Dr Kwabena Donkor, has asked fathers in the Upper East Region to invest in the education of their children rather than investing their resources in drinking of alcohol because education is the key to success of every individual.

According to him, but for his parent’s investment in his education, he would not have achieved excellence and would have been useless to his family and the country as a whole.

The minister was speaking at a ceremony to commission a Thengaship project under the Rural Electrification project in Anateem, a suburb of the Bolgatanga district in the Upper East region Wednesday.

He explained that, time was due for father’s in this part of the country to come to the realization that educating their children is of enormous importance than the consumption of alcohol.

“Fathers in this part of the country should realize that we now exist in a dynamic world and that the best thing to ever do is invest in the education of their children rather the fat expenditure in alcohol consumption and other unnecessary spending. Education, fathers should realize is a recipe for the success of your children.”

He praised the tenacity of mothers who will go to any length to ensure their children have the best in life but encouraged them to do more.

He acknowledged that, intellects abound in the Upper East Region citing himself, Mahama Ayariga, Abraham Amaliba and many other distinguished people who hail from the region but added that, there are a lot more brains from the region but they will be unearth if their parents invest their resources in them.
