The Director of the Upper East Regional Coordinating Council, Alhaji Abubakari Inusah has called on the 15 Municipal and District assemblies to, at least identify two business opportunities for the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) for recommendation to local and foreign investors.
The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre is currently in the Upper East Region for a sensitization programme with the aim of creating awareness of the activities of the centre. The GIPC is also identifying business opportunities in the region and marketing same to investors.
Speaking at a regional investment forum in Bolgatanga on behalf of the Upper East Regional Minister, Stephen Yakubu, Mr. Abubakari noted that, the region is open for investors. According to him, many business potentials are in the Region awaiting investors, He, therefore, used the opportunity to task all the heads of the assemblies in the region to expedite action and recognize investment potentials in their various localities for investors. The Regional Coordinating Director said this will help create jobs and grow the Ghanaian economy.
“My agenda is to rebrand the Region and put it on a pedestal for investors for development. Therefore, I what to take the opportunity once again to call on all of us to buy in the rebranding the mission that will move our region to the next level. Municipal and District coordinating, I want to task all the Assemblies of which you are, the administrative heads in the Region to identify one or two products that you have a comparative advantage to partner with some of the up-and-coming entrepreneurs in the region to investigate.”
Alhaji Abubakari Inusah also called on traditional leaders in the region to always partner with the various assemblies to make land available for investors when necessary.
