The Inspector-General of Police, Dr. George Akufo Dampare has reached out to Solomon TTB, a resident of the Talensi District in the Upper East Region after the latter drew the attention of the former to robberies in the Talensi area.
This is just after about 9 hours after Solomon TTB took to his Facebook page to itemise his concerns.
In the earlier post, Solomon TTB wrote, “three days ago, the robbers shot and killed one young man from Gbani instantly. One is currently in the hospital responding to treatment. Many victims have lost their lives as a result of being shot by the robbers.
Others have sustained various degrees of injuries that have culminated in the maiming of others. Cumulatively, the robbers made away with several motorbikes, gold, phones, laptops, an unspecified huge sum of monies and other properties worth thousands of Cedis.
The major robbery points are; Zinguure Zoore around Buugu on the way to Earl International Mine (Shanxi), Sheaga-Sawaliga-Biung Road, Datoku Electoral Area, Yameriga-Sheaga Road and Kpatia-Zuarungu Road.”
Excited about the swift response by the IGP, Dr. Dampare, Solomon TTB again took to his page to write;
“On behalf of the youth and people of Talensi, I would like to express my profound gratitude to the Ghana Police Service led by IGP George Akuffo Dampare for the swift response on the robbery incidents in Talensi.
In fact, the whole IGP spoke to me via a telephone call and connected his Regional Commander (Upper East) to the conversation on the way forward.
We are optimistic that it will yield positive results.
May the Sovereign God shower his bountiful blessings on the IGP and his team.”
