Communicators of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Upper East Region have sent a notice to media houses in the region not to invite or better still reject some communicators of the party that can best be described as ‘inexperienced’ anytime those individuals avail themselves for radio station discussions.

The ‘experienced communicators’ embarked on an indefinite strike following the appointment of Peter Ayinbisa as regional communication director whom they considered an alien to the regional communication team.

While they were on the sit-down strike, the regional communication director had engaged another crop of communicators to represent the party at various political talk shows.

These individuals include; Andrew Asungiiba Atariwini, Roland Datoghe, Salahu-Deen Musah Al-Khomeini, Johnson Ayikene Anaane, Agengre Daniel Asebila, Azaare Peter, Akolgo Peter, etc.

But after almost two months of protest, the communicators called off the strike on Wednesday, August, 10th with some proposals to media houses in the region.
Among the proposals, the communicators want media houses to reject the above individuals whose style of communication, they believe, has lowered standards and also debased radio programmes.

“The team would like to re-assure the media that the defective communication that they witnessed in our absence due to the “so-called make-shift” recruitment that debased their programs would come to an end with immediate effect. By issuing this statement, we urge our respected media outlets to accept and invite our core communication team members whose names were captured in our previous petition to the national Communication Directorate.”

In the letter to call off their strike, the communicators attached a list of over 30 names, signed and with contact numbers for the media to houses to engage on behalf of the NPP in the region.

However, the list of ‘certified communicators’ exempted the names of the ‘inexperienced communicators’ recruited by Peter Ayinbisa.
