Binduri MP supports over 100 students with Ghc150,000

Over the past two years, Abdulai Abanga, the Member of Parliament for the Binduri Constituency, has given more than Ghc150,000 in support of more than 100 students in his constituency.

The MP said that this is a part of his initiative to assist as many residents of his constituency in gaining access to education. This disclosure was made by Mr. Abanga during his conversation on the Day Break Upper East Show.

“I just provided some financial support to more than 100 students in the Binduri constituency especially those in the tertiary level. A lot of them couldn’t pay their school fees. A lot of them couldn’t pay their admission fees and they were struggling so I decided to make that amount availale to them.”

According to the MP who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Housing, the support came in part from the MP’s Fund and other funds made avaialable to the MP.

Mr. Abanga said each student, depending on the need, received a minimum of Ghc1,000.

“Those who were doing the medicine and the sciences, some were getting around Ghc3000.”
