NR: BONABOTO student crowned winner of Face of Tamale Technical University

A member of Tamale Technical University chapter of the Bolgatanga, Nabdam, Bongo and Tongo ( BONABOTO) union, Flavia Abaabagre has defied all the odds to emerge as the overall queen of the 2022 edition of ‘Face of TaTU’.

‘Face of TaTU’ is a beauty pageant organized annually by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of Tamale Technical University (TaTU). The pageant seeks to afford young ladies in the University the platform to bring their talents to the limelight. It also serves as an enormous opportunity for contestants to showcase their intellectual prowess to the public.

Flavia Abaabagre, a final-year student of the Department of Hospitality, Catering and Institutional Management (HCIM), staged a hugely energetic, educative, lively, sterling and groundbreaking performance to clinch the ultimate award.

Ms. Abaabagre’s outstanding performance on saw her sweep a quartet of awards on the night. She won the star performer of the night’s award, Miss talent, Miss catwalk and the ultimate.

In an interview with A1 Radio’s Elijah Beyeni, regarding how she felt upon winning the coveted award, Ms. Abaabagre was electrified with joy as she said she was overwhelmed by her performance on the night particularly given the fact that she was contesting for the pageant for the second time in her career.

“I was very overwhelmed and happy. This was my second time of going for pageantry; though I was evicted, I never gave up. I came back to prepare myself; so when I went back, then I won. So I was very happy my first time of being a queen. I can’t even measure my level of happiness.

When quizzed about the factors that played a pivotal role toward her remarkable feat, Ms. Abaabagre said the speech she delivered on the night, dubbed “Female Leadership” proved instrumental to her success.
“My topic was about empowering women through leadership and I wanted to use the platform to help and support my fellow women”, she added.

She used the opportunity to advice his fellow ladies to exude courage, determination and faith in their pursuit of success, for with these traits, nothing can impede them from attaining glory.

She also expressed her warmest appreciation to her parents, family as well as friends for the diverse role they all played in her journey to glory.

Flavia Abaabagre shrugged off competition from seven (7) over beautiful ladies in the University to emerge victorious in the contest. She ran away with a brand new motor bike and a sum of one thousand Ghana cedis.

Her closest contender was Pernarh Mavis Kabukie, a level 200 student of the department of Media and communication studies who won the first runner up award. Ms. Kabukie walked away with a brand new refrigerator and money amounting to five hundred Ghana cedis.

Flavia Abaabagre will represent Tamale Technical University (TaTU) at this year’s ‘Face of Technical Universities’.
