1,167 delegates will be casting their votes for 74 aspirants vying for 17 positions in the Navrongo Central constituency in the Upper East Region.
The Navrongo central constituency, according to the NDC, has the highest number of aspirants seeking various positions in the party in the region.
The Member of Parliament for the area, Sampson Tangombu Chiragiaa has called on the aspirants to see the contest as a family activity, and not a do or die affair.
“Do not see this contest as a personal thing rather a time for unity. Remember, we are a family and in any contest, there’s always a winner and two people can’t be winners at the same time, hence let us embrace positivism. What I meant is, whoever wins, we should all support and channel our energy towards the 2024 elections.”
He stressed that the constituency having the highest number of aspirants meant a good sign that victory awaits them (NDC) come the 2024 elections.
“Yes, with this great team in the constituency we are poised for victory come 2024 elections. But that can only happen if we understand and appreciate each other that this contest is just a family affair and whoever wins is a brother or sister and must have your support towards the 2024 elections. That and only that we can gain victory for NDC come 2024.”
The election is held at the NH1 auditorium at the C.K Tedam University of Technology and Applied Science.
