The National Insurance Commission (NIC) in the Upper East Region has supported the Bolgatanga Senior High School with some ICT materials. The equipment presented to the school includes a desktop computer, multifunctional printer, and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS).

Speaking after the donation exercise, the Upper East Regional head of the NIC, Ernest Osei Adofo said the support came against the backdrop of the cooperation between the school and NIC. It could be recalled that early this year the NIC was granted permission to have its annual blood donation exercise at the school.

According to Mr. Adofo, the donation of the devices was to show appreciation to the Bolgatanga Senior High School for the granting NIC the permission to undertake the blood donation in the school.

“Out of many secondary schools we contacted, we were happy BigBoss accepted our request and said they were ready to collaborate with us with the support from the regional health directorate hospital the exercises were undertaken and met our expectations. Right after the Commissioner at the Headquarters was equally happy and decided that we should make a donation of our little choking to the school.”

“For the support you gave exercise and to deeping the working relationship we have with BigBoss. The blood donation exercise is our annual event and we are hopeful next year we are likely to come back to BigBoss and make the exercise successful so that the Ghanaian public will also benefit from it.”

Mr. Adofo who was in accompanied with Mrs. Magdalene Adumbori Head of Procurement Unit at the National Insurance commission took the opportunity to thank management of the school. She noted that blood donation is important because there’s a way for the various hospitals to have blood at their respective blood banks for the benefits of Ghanaian public hence the support they had from BigBoss is remarkable.

The Assistant Headmaster of Administration at the Bolgatanga Senior High School, Cletus Zoot who received the items on behalf of the school management said the ICT items will go a long way to help the school. He assured the NIC of the school’s readiness to collaborate with them.

He also assured the NIC of putting the items into good use as the school still needs more support in order to improve teaching and learning in the school.
