6 years in office, Prez Akufo-Addo has nothing significant to show in the Upper East Region – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is unsure of any notable achievements that the Akufo-Addo administration can cite in the Upper East Region over the previous six years.

According to the NDC, the current administration has left the people of the Upper East Region to their fate. The government has failed to commit considerable amounts of money to ensure the rapid development of the region.

Jonathan Abdallah Salifu, the Upper East Regional Communication Officer for the NDC shared these sentiments when he spoke at the maiden edition of the NDC Communication Bureau’s ‘Upper East Region Must Know’ series today, February 21, 2023 at the party’s Regional Office in Zuarungu.

The Bolga-Bawku road’s abandonment is what has the NDC upset.

“Ladies and gentlemen, it is sad to note that similar road projects have been abandoned in the region. In the western zone of the region mention can be made of the Navrongo-Naaga road project, and the Chuchuliga-Sandema-Fumbisi-Wiesi road project. In the eastern zone, MissigaKulungungu road project, and the completion of a major portion of the Missiga-Pusiga-Polimakom stretch of the Bolgatanga-Bawku-Polimakom road project. All these have come about as a result of government’s unwillingness to commit funds to complete the projects. The reality is that we have been neglected as a region. In fact, the President in 2020 could only commission a street lighting and traffic lights projects in the regional capital, Bolgatanga. There is nothing worth pointing to in the region in terms of development for the six (6) years of this wicked, corrupt, inept, and nepotistic Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government,” Mr. Abdallah Salifu said.
