The parliamentary candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Talensi constituency of the Upper East Region, Daniel Duun Mahama is expected to win the 2024 parliamentary election in a landslide fashion. This is because, his humility, hard working nature and philanthropy has convinced even constituency executives and dyed in the wool members of the NPP in the area to root for him.

The NPP PC, expected to be elected later this year, would only be elected as a mere formality.

The NDC’s constituency secretary, Augustine Guure, made these comments when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show recently.

“Agenda 2024 is what is next. As my incoming MP has stated, we do not need to hustle to pick up the seat anymore, though we do not need to be complacent. Look at what we have put on the ground. We needed a foot soldier. We needed a grassroot man. Together with the branch executives, we have been able to deliver one of the best of the eight people. This is not to say that he is better than the others. He was the most favoured. The grassroots have spoken. We will deliver an overwhelming victory for the NDC.”

“We have someone who has been marketed already. Because of his nature; he is a philanthropist and doesn’t discriminate [so the NPP likes him]. You get to the township, and they don’t even know him by his own name. They all know him as gaba, and it tells you who he is. He’s like MTN; he’s everywhere you go. Most of the NPP folks, maybe they would not come out to say it publicly, but they would go to the polling station and vote for him,” he said.

Meanwhile, Daniel Duun Mahama, expressed optimism regarding the unity among the other seven individuals vying to lead the constituency in the upcoming 2024 general election. According to Mr. Mahama, following the party’s primaries held on May 13, 2023, he has been in contact with the contenders, and they have reciprocated, fostering a harmonious atmosphere and a shared vision to secure the party’s hold on the seat.

He said this when he spoke on A1 Radio’s Day Break Upper East Show with Mark Smith, Mr. Mahama added that it is essential that the NDC hold onto the seat.
