According to information obtained by A1 Radio, the government aims to finish three out of the eight hospital projects under Agenda 111 in the Upper East Region.

A deep-seated source claims that after conducting a number of analyses, the government came to the conclusion that three out of the eight projects have reached stages that allow for quick completion.

The three projects are situated in Garu, Binduri, and Bolgatanga East Districts

“The idea is to assist the government with immediate functional capital and resources to complete the selected ones in time. You would agree with me that such projects, looking at them, have attained some level of appreciation,” the source stated.

Also, out of the five regions of the North, eight (8) such projects have been selected to be completed before the end of the year.

The District Chief Executive for Bolgatanga East, David Amoah, who was excited by the news, indicated the project has been dear to his heart because of the immense contribution it would have towards achieving UHC.

“I can’t stop expressing joy over this news. Just take a look at the level of work so far. The material resources the government has committed here, if all are abandoned, will definitely be an insult to all of us as Ghanaians. So, I’m happy it is part of the government’s agenda,” he indicated.

A visit to the project site by our reporter, Moses Apiah showed that the facility had seen immense progress since the president’s last visit.

Meanwhile, it could be recalled that the government in 2018 indicated that the Agenda 111 hospitals would be built in eight districts in the Upper East Region such as Bolgatanga East, Nabdam, Garu, Tempane, Pisuga, Kassena-Nankana West and Builsa South.
