Bad business practices affecting DJs in Upper East Region – DJ Gizy

Musah Abdul Fatawu known as DJ Gizzy has called on DJs to desist from taking food from the mouth of fellow DJs.

He says when DJs are contracted for a gig, some DJs will go behind to play the gig for a lesser fee and at times for free. This in his view is killing the business.

“Imagine I bill Lexis for a show, and some DJ feels that he can play for half the fees Lexis is charging. The organiser then feels that he has options and will surely go for the lesser charging DJ. Some will even be willing to play for only refreshment or for free. So I am calling on all DJs to stop that kind of attitude because it kills the business”.

He further noted that the DJs don’t take their jobs seriously but rather as a side thing for fun.

“We the DJs sometimes don’t take our job seriously. We take it as a side thing or something we do for fun. Some of the DJs that’s what they want. They don’t want to take the job as a professional activity for them. So that’s also the problem”.

Speaking on A1 Radio’s Entertainment Zone on Saturday, Dj Gizzy called on all DJs in the region to be professional and to join the Upper East DJs Union.
